About Us
The American Lung Association of the Atlantic Coast fights for healthy lungs and clean air through prevention, intervention, and innovation. Our vision is a world free from lung disease, and we fight the diseases and poisons that harm the lungs of our families and communities.
We help individuals have healthy lungs through researching cures for lung disease, advocating for research and healthcare funding, and offering smoking cessation and prevention programs, as well as childhood asthma education. We help communities breathe clean air by advocating for laws that prevent smoking and reduce outdoor air pollution.
The Atlantic Coast regional organization was created July 1, 2007 as a result of merging the American Lung Associations of Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. We continue to do business in each state under the names:
- American Lung Association In Virginia
Our regional headquarters office is located in Richmond, Va. - American Lung Association In Maryland
The Maryland headquarters office is located in Hunt Valley, Md. - American Lung Association In North Carolina
The North Carolina headquarters office is located in Raleigh, NC.
